LAMAYURU CHILLING VIA DUNGDUNG LA TREKKING

Day 01:- Leh Kushok Bakula Airport
Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula airport our RIE representative will meet & greet you and transfer to the Hotel. This flight is one of the most sensational flights in the world. On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif. You would take a little time to settle in and acclimatize since you have gone from a relatively low elevation in New Delhi to over (Altitude 11,000 feet) during the afternoon, you can walk through the old town, beneath the Leh Palace, to allow you to get oriented to this fascinating city. Day 02: Leh - Ulleytokpo (Altitude 3165 Mtrs. 73 Kms 3-4 Hours Drive)
Morning after breakfast drive towards Ulleytokpo, en route visit Lakir Monastery, Alchi, Basgo Castle and Magnetic hill. Check in at the deluxe camp at Ulleytokpo.
Lakir Monastery is also called the Klu-Kkhjil or "water spirits". Built over an earlier Gompa burnt down in the 15th century, the present Gompa is an 18th century construction and houses monks of the Gyalukpa sect. The Likir monastery has a rich collection of paintings, robes and artifacts.
Alchi is nestled in the valley of the Indus River along the ancient trade route and is famous for its gompas, some over a thousand years old. Its wall paintings deserve a special mention.
Basgo Castle is a historical town situated on the bank of the Indus River in Ladakh. It is known for its gompas and historical ruins. The complex of buildings includes a ruined fortress dating from 15th century as well as two large temples and a small shrine.

Day 03: Ulleytokpo - Lamayuru (Altitude 3420 Mtrs.)
After breakfast leave for Lamayuru via Khalsi, Kangaroo Carves & Fotu-la (Altitude 4088 Mts.), Mulbeck & Namika-la (Altitude 3697 Mts.).After driving up the Kangaroo curves one can have a fascinating view of granite colour rocks & continue drive towards the mesmerizing Moon landscapes and the Lamayuru monastery, Lamayuru is the oldest religious centre of Ladakh situated on or near the Indus and is believed to have been the sacred site for the pre-Buddhist religion known as Bon Built in the 10th century, the monastery is spectacularly located on an eroded mass of rock below towering mountains The Monastery here beats all others in sheer grandeur and in its uniqueness of wood carving, Dinner and overnight stay at Camps

Day 04: Lamayuru - Wanla (Altitude 3250 Mtrs. 3-4 Hours Trek)
After breakfast today is our first day's of adventure stars. We will follow a stream for a time, and gradually climb up to the pass of Prinkitila La (Altitude 3750 Mtrs). We will later pass through the small village of Shilla (Altitude 3700 Mtrs.) before reaching our campsite at Wanla, where we will spend the afternoon either relaxing in the sun or visiting the monastery. On arrival at Wanla fix the camps dinner and overnight stay
Day 05: Wanla - Hinju (Altitude 3720 Mtrs. 4-5 Hours Trek)
After breakfast following a dusty road we will reach the small village of Phenjilla (Altitude 3410 Mtrs.) and the scattered village of Uri .We will then walk through a narrow gorge until we reach a traditional Rangthak (flour mill) at the far end of the village. The trail will then cut through the village of Hinju roughly 2 km below our campsite in a yak herder’s encampment. Dinner and overnights stay at Camps
Day 06: Hinju -Sumda Doksa (Altitude 4430m 5-6 Hours Trek)
After breakfast we leave from the encampment we will continue along the trail and ascend the ridge below Kongskil La (Altitude 4950 Mtrs). If lucky we will get glimpses of some wild life. We will then climb gradually until we reach Kongskil La where we will be surrounded by dizzying views of the Karakoram and Stok ranges. The descent down the trail is quite steep with loose moraine causing the difficulty--so be careful! The trail then follows the left side of valley floor, passing a yak herders ' hut (Altitude 4500 Mtrs.), before we reach our campsite. This valley is occupied mainly by the villagers of Sumda Chenmo.

Day 07: Sumda Doksa - DungDung Chan la base (Altitude 4430 Mtrs 4-5 Hours Trek)
After breakfast we leave towards DungDung la short walk and a few river crossings, we will reach the village of Sumda Chenmo. From there we head towards the true left side of the valley, which provides a beautiful view of the village with its lush greenery. Further on the trail cuts through the valley 's wild rose bushes and leads us to another river crossing (this stream originates from the high snow- capped peaks of Photosar Altitude 5685 Mtrs.). Before making a steep challenging ascent over Lanka, we will see Edelweiss and some of the other rare wild flowers of Ladakh. From the campsite, there is a splendid view of Kongskil, Dinner and overnight stay at base camps
Day 08: DungDung Chan La base - Chilling (Altitude 3550 Mtrs. 5-6 Hours Trek Ends) and Drive to Leh
After breakfast We will begin the day with a straight forward climb to DungDung Chan La (Altitude 4820 Mtrs.), which offers views of the beautiful vistas of the Stok Range in the east and the Zanskar Range in the south. From the pass the trail gradually descends down a ridge toward the valley continually tapering before reaching the village of Chilling. Chilling is the only village in Ladakh that has provided metal works such as copper, bronze, tin, silver and iron to the Leh market through the centuries. From Chilling we will drive for about 3 hours along the Zanskar River .We will eventually reach its confluence with the Indus and the easy road back to Leh on arrival at hotel check inn and with complete rest dinner and overnight stay
Day 09: Depart Leh - Kushok Bakula Airport
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport board your flight towards destination, to enjoy yet again, a beautiful flight over the great Himalayas
